Cerca Trova JewelsHandmade Eclectic Artisan Jewelry featuring American Lampwork and Venetian Glass Designer Jewelry

For over a thousand years Venetian glass artisans have passed their ancient secrets of creating small works of art in the form of beads to succesive generations. In the 13th century the glass artisans of Venice moved to the island of Murano because of the danger of fire. There the industry flourished.
Today these master artisans create these tiny masterpieces by hand, by fusing molten glass into beautiful multi-colored and multi-textured beads often incorporating fine gold and silver in their designs. Each bead is hand crafted in the traditional method used for centuries, melting the glass rods onto a mandrel (metal rod) over a gas flame (originally a lamp was used to supply the flame, thus the name lampwork beads) and layering glass, gold and silver to form these tiny orbs. The beads are then placed in a kiln to slowly cool so that they harden evenly and do not crack, the term for this is kiln annealing.
To create my Murano jewelry line I search for the finest hand crafted Venetian beads available. My company name, Cerca Trova, is a result of this search, meaning seek and you shall find.
Each piece of jewelry I design and handmake is unique and only the finest beads are used in its creation!
